Set within Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, MEI offers an Asian dining experience where Chinese and Japanese influences meet with confidence and restraint. Crane murals, moon‑gate doors, and a signature gabled rooftop create a space that feels iconic—layered with meaning, yet never overstated.
The journey begins at a pivot door—an architectural gesture drawn from the language of traditional moon gates. Inside, the radiant bar sits beneath a classic Chinese gabled roof, forming a focal moment that feels both ceremonial and inviting. Here, lighting is tuned to do what the best hospitality lighting does: guide attention without announcing itself.
DuraGreen downlights establish a calm, low‑glare foundation, keeping ceilings visually quiet and the experience comfortable. Over this base layer, adjustable spotlights introduce controlled contrast—shaping the room through a measured play of light and shadow. The result is warm and composed: a space that feels intentionally crafted from arrival through to dining.
The washroom is conceived as a visual destination—marble veining, bold botanical wallpaper, and moody lighting held in balance. Here, the lighting shifts toward a more dramatic, editorial tone—still controlled and refined. Contrast is calibrated to flatter materials and deepen atmosphere, creating a memorable moment.
